The Institute of Transdisciplinary Discoveries (ITD, University of Pécs, Medical School), is the representative of the health innovation development and support department of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Health) in Hungary. The ITD continuously searches and supports innovative and creative health solutions that can greatly help those working in the health sector and improves the quality of services provided to patients.
The Institute’s Discovery Team project, launched in 2021, is a unique initiative in which, by observing the daily routine of UOP’s clinics, the interdisciplinary groups find challenges and difficulties. The solutions for observed issues help making care faster, simpler, and more efficient for both the workers and the patients.
The methodology and the results attracted the attention of the EIT, which, in addition to financing the entire research, is investigating further development of the methodology and how to implement it in other countries.
The program will be held again in 2022 with the focus on health and social institutions dealing with the care of the elderly.
